The best way to fill a gap
An implant is a replacement tooth that both feels and looks better than a bridge or denture. Likely to last a lifetime, it is the next best thing to a natural tooth.

A simple procedure
Placing your implant is typically simple and painless. It is normally performed under local anaesthetic, and much less complicated than people often imagine.

No gap for any time at the front of your mouth
If you are missing one of your key aesthetic teeth at the front of your mouth, we will provide you with a temporary crown or denture straight away and never leave you with a gap. After another three months or so we would fit your permanent crown when the implant has sufficiently integrated with the bone.

If you are missing a molar tooth at the back of your mouth, we would encourage you to live with a gap until the implant has integrated; without a temporary crown, you are far less likely to attempt to put pressure on the new implant and potentially affect its integration.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a single tooth dental implant cost?

A single-tooth implant costs £1,950 to complete. This includes the cost of your permanent crown and its restoration either by ourselves or your own general dentist.

Do you do ‘same day’ single tooth implants?

Yes, in the sense that the implant – along with a temporary crown – can be placed in one visit. However we only fit the permanent crown when your implant has had time (approximately 3 months) to integrate with the surrounding bone.

What is the procedure for single tooth implant?

Following a detailed assessment of your mouth to determine suitability for an implant, we send you a treatment plan that clearly explains our proposed procedure and costs. The placement operation is usually performed under local anaesthetic and takes around half an hour. We can usually fit a temporary crown straight away (to avoid leaving you with a gap), then place the permanent crown about three months later, once the implant has properly integrated with the bone.

Single tooth implant or denture – which is better?

A denture presents several significant disadvantages:

  • A denture is not a fixed solution, unlike an implant. It requires constant attention to keep in position, and denture wearers consistently report how tedious and embarrassing frequently removing and refixing their denture can be
  • A denture can impact both your speech and your ability to taste, as the roof of your mouth is involved in both functions. An implant leaves it completely uncompromised
  • A denture looks like a denture – it simply does not fit as well as an implant
  • A denture can move around and is far less stable than an implant when chewing
  • Dentures are harder to keep clean than implants
  • A denture will not last as long as an implant.
Does a single tooth implant hurt?

No. You might feel a scratch from the local anaesthetic injection and possibly the sensation of pressure or pulling, but no pain. Having a single-tooth implant placed typically feels little different from having a filling.
