Before and after implant treatment

Although you may feel slightly nervous before your treatment, you could not be in more capable hands than with us at The Implant Experts.

Prior to your treatment

Prior to your treatment eat meals and drink as you would normally, and continue to take any prescribed medications. We will have discussed any health issues you may have well in advance of surgery.

After surgery

After surgery, most patients are surprised at how little discomfort they experienced during the placement of their implants. Once the local anaesthetic wears off, any subsequent aches or pains should be easily controllable with standard, over-the-counter pain relief.

Home care instructions

We will give you very straightforward instructions for the aftercare of your mouth whilst the site of the operation settles down, and any discomfort should pass in a matter of days.

Around three months later

Around three months later we will see you for a follow-up appointment to check on the progress of your implants and hopefully restore your new teeth.

Aftercare guide

We will give you a full aftercare guide to take away following your treatment. The main thing to remember is that your new implant teeth need regular cleaning and maintenance in exactly the same way normal teeth do.

We are here to help

If you are ever at all concerned about how your implants are progressing, please feel free to get in touch with us.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to follow a specific dental implant aftercare regime?

Yes and no. The main thing to remember is that your new implant teeth need regular cleaning and maintenance in exactly the same way normal teeth do: that means seeing your dentist for a check-up every 6 months. You should also regularly see a hygienist who is experienced at maintaining the health of dental implants.
