Michael originally came to us on referral from his own dentist, Anitha Bartlett in Maidstone. Over a number of years he had lost a small number of important posterior chewing teeth on the lower right, lower left and upper left sides. As a consequence, he mainly found himself reliant on the upper right side back teeth. Unfortunately, these teeth were heavily repaired with crowns that had been in place for many years and were starting to fail. Michael was concerned about the increasing problem of the important missing chewing teeth at the back of the mouth and was keen to avoid removable dentures.
We carefully assessed Michael and were able to recommend and complete a comprehensive course of treatment initially using 3 dental implants to replace the existing pattern of missing teeth, with associated minor bone augmentation. We were then able to follow through with treatment for the upper right side, on the loss of these posterior teeth, with a further 2 implants to support a small fixed bridge.
Michael’s treatment is typical where a planned phased approach can divide treatment into easily manageable stages culminating in an excellent functional and aesthetically pleasing result. Michael’s replacement implant supported posterior teeth feel natural and all the treatment was carried painlessly and comfortably under local anaesthesia. In planning this type of treatment we will always discuss fully the advantages of a staged approach where applicable.
The problem I did know was that I needed to get my teeth fixed and I needed them to be done permanently as that was the big issue. I needed a permanent fix and that’s why I went to The Implant Experts.
