Laura was referred to us by her own dentist. She had had a missing upper front tooth replaced by a bridge supported by 2 crowned adjacent teeth. Unfortunately the bridge had failed with a fairly common complication with this type of bridgework and this led to the loss of 2 further front teeth. Laura was very keen to avoid a removable partial denture to replace 3 front teeth in the long term.
We were able to successfully replace Roy’s missing upper teeth on each side with 5 separate implant supported permanently attached porcelain crowns. The first stage was to undertake a simple procedure to replace the missing bone called a sinus lift, using synthetic bone replacement material. This allowed for the regeneration of lost bone giving a firm foundation for the implants, which were placed a few months later. Each stage, as is usual for implant treatment, was easily completed under local anaesthesia as for any routine dental treatment, although additional sedation is available for patients who may be apprehensive.
Laura’s case perfectly illustrates how a relatively simple and straightforward implant solution can result in a permanent and aesthetically pleasing replacement for missing upper front teeth following complications with previous dental treatment. This is the type of case that we regularly undertake on a day to day basis here at The Implant Experts.
The implant is very natural looking. I’m very happy with them they are the right size, the right shape and the right colour and they just feel like my own teeth.
